Growing up in San Diego, Mele has a lifelong passion for the ocean and its history. She is dedicated to reviving traditional longboarding through her unique style. Mele has a Signature board, "The Kat Walk" with G&S, her family's surf company.

As the daughter of Debbie Gordon and granddaughter of Larry Gordon, she carries their legacy onto every wave she rides, adding authenticity and a deep history to every wave she rides. Outside of surfing, Mele loves to make art and teaches art to kids in San Diego.
