I have many fond memories of my childhood in Brazil, but unfortunately there aren't many souvenirs that survived the cross-continent moves. This is one reason why I cherish my mother's original Bossa Nova records, which she recently brought back over from Italy as a gift. They are a beautiful reminder of my family, and the island where I grew up - Ilhabela, Brazil.

As you can see, the collection is still growing! Seems like albums are harder to find these days, but every once in a while, a good one will pop up at a thrift store or garage sale.
This week's mix is an hour of incredible historical Brazilian sound, smoothly mixed by sound master Biga. During my college years, his mixes fueled many parties in Florence and late night summer dance sessions.
