We want to take a moment to acknowledge what’s happening—not just in LA, but across the country—and to express where we stand.
We are immigrants.
We are surfers.
We are Californians.
We are human.
Surfers have always been global citizens. We chase waves across borders and find kinship in coastal communities around the world. And at Seea, that perspective is more than symbolic—it’s personal.
Our founder and creative director, Amanda Chinchelli, is herself an immigrant. The company she dreamed up and built is rooted in a multicultural point of view, shaped by her upbringing and deep appreciation for the people who have helped bring her vision to life.
From day one, immigrant communities have been an integral part of Seea’s story.
They are our partners in local manufacturing, the skilled hands that craft our garments, and the generous hearts that show up for us every day. They are our friends, our family members, and a vital thread in the fabric of California, and of this country.
We stand in solidarity with immigrant communities.
In Los Angeles, ICE began one of the most aggressive mass deportation efforts in recent history—indiscriminately targeting Latino communities, workplaces, and families.
Whiles news is evolving quickly, we want to be clear about what we believe in:
- Families belong together.
- People should not live in fear of detention or separation.
- Immigration is not a threat—it is a foundation.
A Reminder: The Constitution Protects All People—Not Just Citizens.
The U.S. Constitution guarantees due process and equal protection under the law—not just for citizens, but for all persons within its borders. These raids sidestep those protections, undermining the very framework of justice that defines our democracy. When rights are violated for some, they are at risk for us all.
A few facts worth knowing: + more below
- The cost of mass deportation—raids, detentions, and legal processing—runs into the billions of taxpayer dollars, weakening communities and families at every level.
- Over 60% of undocumented immigrants have lived in the U.S. for more than a decade. Many are raising U.S. citizen children and running small businesses that keep our economy moving.
- Most of those being targeted have no criminal history, and yet they’re being treated as threats for simply existing in the only home they’ve ever known.
We support free speech and peaceful protest.
We believe in the right to speak up, to gather peacefully, and to demand better from those in power. These are fundamental freedoms—and they matter now more than ever.
Without humanity in this conversation, we lose ourselves.
What we’re witnessing isn’t just a political move—it’s a moral turning point. And while Seea isn’t a political organization, we are a human-centered brand built on relationships and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves dignity, safety, and a sense of belonging.
We know not everyone will agree. But it’s heartbreaking to feel divided on something so human, so urgent, and so close to home.
But we still hold hope.
Hope that empathy can grow.
Hope that conversations can create understanding.
Hope that we will remember our shared humanity—even when we disagree.
This moment calls for more than silence.
It calls for soul.
With love,
Seea

Immigrants truly do make America great, thank you for being a brand that won’t remain silent in this critical time.
