After eight years away, Seea designer Sabina Sauce returned home to Venezuela with her husband, Oscar, and young son, Otto, to reconnect with her roots and revisit the place where her love story and surf journey first began. Captured by her husband at the very beach where they first met over a decade ago, these intimate photos hold deep sentimental value for Sabina.

Sabina lived hours from the beach in Caracas, but she didn't let that stop her.

"We would leave super early, sometimes just for the day . Or we would stay at Oscar's grandmother's bungalow at the beach at Pelua and surf all day. We would surf and nap and eat , living in our own little surf bubble. It was our own personal escape."

"When I started surfing, I would make my own swimsuits and stuff - that's when I discovered Seea.... I was like WOW - I wanted every Seea suit. I had one suit - the Leucadia skirt that I actually bought at the Malibu Urban Outfitters.... And I took that home and wore it all the time - I still have it . It's falling apart I kept it as a charm... When we would talk about moving I would dream about working at Seea - it was this intangible dream. It took a few years after I moved to Oceanside, but to go back home after all those years, working for Seea and bringing all these suits and shooting with Oscar was a full-circle moment."

"The drive from. Caracas to the coast is so beautiful - the city itself is in the valley and you have this big mountain that separates the city from the coast. you go through these gnarly tunnels and it's 2-3 hours away depending on traffic."

Sabina's favorite beaches include Los Caracas - "it's pretty far from my house but it's an iconic beach for Venezuelans. but what people don't know is it's an A grade longboard wave. it's like a mini Noosa."

Playa Pelua is another favorite beach not far from Las Caracas, but more of a short board wave.

"We stayed at a beach club - which is where his grandma had his bungalow. I grew up going to clubs like it and everything is still the same. That country is stuck in time. It's all feels very nostalgic."
